In unincorporated Clark County, consumer fireworks may be discharged only from 9 a.m. to midnight on July 4, and from 6 p.m. Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. Jan. 1. All other days are banned. Firecrackers, bottle rockets and M-80s are illegal statewide.
Clark County is more restrictive than Washington state law. State RCW 70.77.395 would allow discharge June 28 through July 5, but the unincorporated county limits use to two windows: 9 a.m. to midnight on July 4 and 6 p.m. Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. Jan. 1. Sales run noon June 28 through 11 p.m. July 4. Cities (Vancouver, Camas, etc.) set their own, often stricter, rules. Prohibited devices under state law include firecrackers, salutes, chasers, skyrockets, bottle rockets and M-80/M-100s.
Discharging outside the allowed dates or times is a civil infraction; fines start at $500 per violation for first-time offenders. Possessing illegal devices is a felony.
