Jackson County cities restrict food truck vending zones with distance rules from restaurants, time limits, and special event clustering at Gulf Coast festivals. Pascagoula's Beach Park and Ocean Springs' Front Beach are high-demand zones. Private property vending requires owner consent and zoning compliance.
Pascagoula Code Β§74-122 restricts mobile food vending to designated zones and private property with written owner consent, prohibiting setup within 100 feet of an open brick-and-mortar restaurant during business hours or within 25 feet of an intersection, fire hydrant, or bus stop. Pascagoula Beach Park vending requires a separate Parks and Recreation permit. Ocean Springs Code Β§28 requires food trucks to maintain 150-foot distance from restaurants on Government Street and Washington Avenue historic district, with a 4-hour limit per location unless at a permitted special event. Ocean Springs Front Beach vending operates under concessionaire agreement only. Moss Point Code Β§22 allows vending in commercial C-2 and C-3 zones but prohibits in R-1 residential, with a 2-hour limit. Gautier Code Β§42 restricts food trucks to designated commercial parcels with owner permission and prohibits operations on Ladnier Road median or Gautier Boulevard right-of-way. All cities prohibit overnight storage of food trucks on public streets. Cruisin' the Coast antique car festival in October and Peter Anderson Festival in November waive standard zone rules under master festival permits. Hurricane evacuation orders under Miss. Code Β§33-15 supersede all vending permits.
Vending in restricted zone: Pascagoula $100 to $500, Ocean Springs $150 to $500. Blocking ROW or fire hydrant: immediate relocation and $250 fine. Operating in residential zone: $200 to $1,000. Repeat violations: 30-day to 1-year permit suspension.
