York County, PA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

York County's park system is closed to mobile food vending, peddling and soliciting unless the Parks Director has issued a permit. A(1) prohibits peddling or soliciting business of any nature within the park system, alongside collecting funds for any service or charity, distributing or posting handbills or other advertising, engaging in political activity, and posting unauthorized signs. Subsection B goes further and targets the physical setup a food truck or vendor would use: no one may set up a booth or table, or stand or dispense the sale of any article or service from a vehicle, anywhere in the park system.

Selling, servicing or renting any commodity, and soliciting for any purpose including political activity, is barred the same way. Nothing in § 75-17 forbids vending forever, though: § 75-34 requires a permit, agreement, or paid fee from the Department before anyone uses a park facility or area in a way that needs one, which is the route a food truck or vendor would have to take to operate legally at a county park event. Absent that permit, the default rule is a flat no, whether it's a single vendor setting up a folding table or a truck parked to sell food, drinks or merchandise directly to park visitors.
