Adams County, CO Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Section 5 of Ordinance No. 5 permits stand vending on sidewalks and motor-vehicle vending on streets everywhere in unincorporated Adams County except along Principal Arterials, the highest street classification in the Adams County Comprehensive Plan. On or adjacent to those arterials, both stand and vehicle vending are barred outright regardless of a valid license. Even off the arterial network, no vendor of any kind may vend within 100 feet of the grounds of an elementary or secondary school, and none may vend on any street or sidewalk otherwise closed to vending.

A vehicle vendor cannot stop, stand or park to sell within 24 feet of an intersection, except that vendors of products likely to attract children must park curbside as close as possible to a pedestrian crosswalk when making a sale, without entering the intersection or blocking traffic flow. Vehicle vendors are also barred from parking on any street where parking or stopping is already prohibited by posted signs, curb markings, statute, or ordinance, and from conducting business in a way that restricts access to private property, increases traffic congestion, or blocks fire, police or sanitation vehicle access.

These location restrictions apply on top of, not instead of, the Section 3 license requirement and the sidewalk-width and stand-size limits enforced elsewhere in the ordinance.
