Washington County cities regulate food truck siting through zoning code. Beaverton permits food carts on private property in commercial zones (CS, CC, OI) as either primary or accessory uses with a temporary use permit under BDC 60.30; the Beaverton Downtown Plan encourages cart pods along Canyon Rd and Broadway. BG Food Cartel at 3800 SW Cedar Hills Blvd is the county's largest pod. Hillsboro Code 12.80 and Title 10 allow mobile food vendors in commercial zones with administrative review; Orenco Station and downtown Hillsboro Tuesday Night Market host rotating vendors. Tigard TMC 18.450 requires a Type I land use decision for cart pods; Tigard Triangle and Main Street are active locations. Tualatin, Sherwood, and Forest Grove each have separate approval processes. Unincorporated county land generally restricts mobile vending under the CDC, though industrial zones and larger commercial parcels can accommodate with Type II review. Common restrictions: minimum 50-200 ft from brick-and-mortar restaurants (varies by city), no blocking fire hydrants/crosswalks/bus stops, time limits (2-4 hours per location in rights-of-way).
