Englewood limits home occupations to activity within the principal building, prohibits outdoor storage, and restricts staffing to preserve residential character and minimize traffic impacts.
Englewood's home occupation rules under Article XI District Regulations restrict on-site activity in residential districts. No exterior storage of supplies, tools, merchandise, or equipment used in the home occupation is permitted. Except for one motor vehicle as specifically allowed, the home occupation must be conducted entirely within the principal building. No more than three persons, including the resident-operator, may be engaged in the operation at any one time. These limits effectively cap customer and employee traffic so the use does not generate impacts inconsistent with the surrounding residential neighborhood.
Generating non-residential traffic, parking, or storage can trigger zoning enforcement actions, summonses, and revocation of any prior approvals, plus daily fines for continuing violations.
