In Manhattan apartment buildings, co-op and condo house rules frequently prohibit any client or customer visits entirely, citing building security, elevator capacity, and doorman protocols. Enforcement is handled by the NYC Department of Buildings, and complaints can be filed through NYC 311. Violations can result in fines and orders to cease the business activity.
