Under San José Municipal Code § 20.80.710, a home-based business qualifies as a home occupation only if it meets every performance criterion in Table 20-160. Client traffic is capped at two clients on the premises at any one time, and clients may visit only between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. The same table also limits home occupations to one business vehicle under 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, bars manufacture or assembly beyond hand-crafted products, and caps direct retail sales off shelves or racks to fifteen square feet of display space. Failing any single criterion means the use no longer qualifies as a home occupation under Title 20.
