Full Breakdown
LDC Sec. 6.11.48.G requires any walk-up retail transaction connected to a home-based business, a customer paying for goods or services on-site, to take place inside the residential dwelling, not in a yard, driveway, garage or accessory structure. Incidental business activity that isn't a walk-up sale may still occur elsewhere on the residential parcel. Sec. 6.11.48.C also caps on-site staffing at two non-resident employees or contractors, and off-site employees cannot visit the property for business reasons at all.
Violations & Fines
Conducting walk-up retail sales outside the dwelling, or letting off-site employees visit the property for business reasons, breaches Sec. 6.11.48 and can trigger Hillsborough County zoning code enforcement.
