A home daycare in Prince William County is regulated by the Commonwealth under Virginia Code 22.1-289.02, administered by the Virginia Department of Education. Home-based child care is a child day program offered in the provider's residence, or a child's home, for one through 12 children under age 13. State licensure is required when five through 12 children are served, exclusive of the provider's own children and any children who reside in the home.
