Unlike many Arizona jurisdictions that ban home-business signs outright, Mohave County allows one small unlit sign at a home occupation, no larger than 24 by 24 inches, displayed only during business hours. Window displays and all other signs are prohibited.
Mohave County's home occupation standards (Zoning Ordinance Section 37.L) permit a single unlit, non-permanent sign up to 24 inches by 24 inches on the premises during business hours. All other signs are prohibited, and window areas may not be used to display or offer merchandise for sale. There may be no exterior displays, no outdoor equipment storage, and no other outside indication that changes the residential appearance of the home. Cities such as Kingman, Lake Havasu City, and Bullhead City apply their own sign codes, and subdivision CC&Rs often ban home-business signs entirely, on top of the county limit.
County code enforcement can order removal of a noncompliant sign and treat continued display as a home occupation violation, which risks permit revocation. HOA covenant breaches are enforced privately.
