12(C)(3) of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance is a near-total exterior visibility ban: no display of merchandise, projects, operations, signs, or name plates of any kind may be visible from outside the dwelling, and the appearance of the home cannot be altered by colors, materials, construction, lighting, windows, signs, or sounds in a way that signals a nonresidential use is happening inside. Condition seven goes further on advertising specifically, barring any office or salesroom open to visitors and prohibiting all advertising of the home occupation's address, whether in print, online, or on a vehicle.

Together these conditions mean a home-based business cannot post a yard sign, window decal, illuminated sign, or even a small name plate by the front door, and cannot list its street address in a flyer, business card, or online listing distributed to the public. A business that needs walk-in customers to find the address, such as retail or a storefront-style service, cannot legally operate as a home occupation under this framework. The Director approves a home occupation permit only upon finding the proposal complies with every condition in the section, so a sign or address-advertising plan submitted with an application is grounds for denial before the business ever opens.
