Under HBMC Chapter 10.40 and California Vehicle Code, no vehicle may remain on a public street over 72 consecutive hours. Vehicles appearing abandoned β flat tires, expired registration, accumulated debris β may be reported. Any peace officer or parking enforcement employee may initiate towing per CVC Section 22652.6. Inoperable vehicles on private property must not be visible from the street.
Abandoned vehicles receive notice followed by citation and towing at the owner's expense.
