Huntington Beach requires oversized vehicle permits for RVs and vehicles over 22 feet on public streets. Only residents may obtain permits. Permitted vehicles must park in front of the owner's residence.
Under HBMC, recreational vehicles of any length, motor vehicles longer than 22 feet or wider than 84 inches, unattached trailers, and vehicles with attached trailers over 22 feet require an Oversized Vehicle permit for public street parking. Only HB residents may obtain permits. Permitted vehicles must park in front of the owner's residence only. The Police Chief may issue 6-month temporary permits for daily-use vehicles when on-premises parking is unavailable. Oversized vehicles may be parked on paved driveways or paved areas between the driveway and side property line without projecting over property lines.
Oversized vehicles without permits are subject to citation. Standard vehicles have the 72-hour limit.
