Home occupations in unincorporated Collier County may not advertise with signs. LDC 5.02.03 prohibits on-site or off-site advertising signs for a home occupation, and there can be no other exterior evidence that a business is operating from the residence.
Because a Collier County home occupation must remain clearly incidental to residential use, the Land Development Code bars visible commercial signage. Under LDC Section 5.02.03 there may be no on-site or off-site advertising signs for the home occupation, and the business must produce no exterior evidence β signs, lighting, displays, or storage β that alters the home's residential appearance. Vehicle lettering, yard signs, and window advertising for the business are therefore not allowed in residential districts. Ordinary residential address numbers and standard-size real-estate or political signs are governed separately under the county's general sign code (LDC 5.06.00), not the home-occupation rules.
An unpermitted home-business sign is a Land Development Code violation; Collier Code Enforcement can order removal and levy daily fines until compliance.
