Noxious weeds per KRS 176.051 are never permitted. Violations are enforced by Codes & Regulations, often initiated by anonymous 311 complaints. Approximately 21,599 property maintenance citations were issued in 2021, with significant enforcement in Jefferson County.
Fines start at $100, accumulating up to $1,500 for persistent violations. Uncured violations can result in property liens. City may mow and charge the cost to the property owner.
