Little Rock's Master Streets Plan designates bicycle facilities along key corridors and across Arkansas River bridges. Cyclists may ride on most public streets, with marked bike lanes where the plan and street geometry allow.
The Little Rock Master Streets Plan classifies streets and includes bicycle facility designations, ranging from shared-lane markings to separated lanes on selected corridors. The Arkansas River Trail, anchored by the pedestrian and bike Big Dam Bridge and Junction Bridge, is the spine of regional cycling. Within neighborhoods, cyclists ride on public streets under standard Arkansas vehicle code rules, including the requirement to ride with traffic and use lights at night. Drivers must give cyclists a safe passing distance under state law, and motor vehicles must not park or stop in marked bike lanes.
Drivers parking or stopping in a marked bike lane can be ticketed; cyclists violating traffic-control devices or riding without required lighting at night can also be cited.
