Amplified music rules in Collier County, FL — also called sound permit, PA system, or live music ordinances — set decibel limits, time-of-day restrictions, and when permits are required.
Amplified sound is capped by Collier County's Table I limits, and any commercial or nonresidential venue with outdoor amplified entertainment within 2,500 feet of a home or residential zone must obtain an Amplified Sound Permit.
Under Sec. 54-92(g), a one-time, site-specific Amplified Sound Permit is required for any commercial business or nonresidential land use (restaurant, bar, park, church, amphitheater) conducting outdoor entertainment with amplified sound within 2,500 feet of a residential use or residential zoning district. Permitted activities must still meet the Table I sound limits (residential 60/55 dB(A) day/night; commercial 65/60 dB(A)). 'Background music' is defined as normally no louder than 45 dB(A) at any point on the property. Residential amenities like clubhouses and pools are exempt from the permit.
Two adjudicated violations within 12 months revoke the Amplified Sound Permit for one year. Base noise fines under Sec. 54-90 are $100/$250/$500.
