Pasco County Code § 66-97 prohibits sound from sound amplifiers, loudspeakers, juke boxes, radios, and similar devices received in a residential district between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. For amplified sound from a vehicle, Florida Statute § 316.3045 makes it unlawful statewide for the sound to be plainly audible 25 feet or more from the vehicle.
Locally, Section 66-97 of the Pasco County Code lists among prohibited noises the sound made by sound amplifiers, loudspeakers, juke boxes, radios, televisions, and musical instruments that emanate from a building, structure, or property and are received in a residential district during nighttime hours (10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). For amplified sound emanating from motor vehicles, Florida preempts the field with Fla. Stat. § 316.3045, which prohibits operating a radio or other soundmaking device in a vehicle on a street or highway so that the sound is plainly audible at 25 feet or more, or louder than necessary near residences, churches, schools, or hospitals. Section 316.3045(4) expressly preserves the right of a local authority to impose more stringent regulations on vehicle-emanating sound.
