Using a musical instrument, sound amplifier or volume-controlled device that produces loud or raucous sound frequently, repetitively or continuously from a building or property, disturbing neighbors, is a public disturbance noise in unincorporated Clark County.
CCC 9.14.010(6) prohibits loud/raucous amplified sound emanating from any building, structure or property that unreasonably disturbs neighbors. CCC 9.14.010(4) separately bans amplifiers on public streets for commercial advertising or attracting attention between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. All amplified sound must also stay within the WAC 173-60-040 environmental limits (55 dBA at a residence, 45 dBA nights). Loud/raucous sound within 1,000 feet of a school, hospital or nursing facility is separately prohibited under subsection (5).
Loud amplified music that disturbs neighbors is a misdemeanor under CCC 9.14.030: $250 fine and/or up to 90 days in jail.
