Amplified music rules in Pinal County, AZ — also called sound permit, PA system, or live music ordinances — set decibel limits, time-of-day restrictions, and when permits are required.
In unincorporated Pinal County it is unlawful to play a radio, phonograph, musical instrument or any sound device so it can be heard more than 125 feet from the property line or vehicle. This is a plain-audibility rule with no meter needed.
Section 7.0 (Loud Radios and Sound Sets) prohibits any person, including a business owner or manager, from operating amplified or musical sound audible beyond 125 feet from the property line or vehicle. The general Table 1 dBA limits (residential 60/55) also apply to amplified sound as a site-specific source. Non-amplified crowd noise from schools, government or community groups is exempt, but not noise generated at restaurants, bars, inns or resorts. Religious-institution percussion instruments are exempt.
Class 1 misdemeanor (disorderly conduct, A.R.S. 13-2904) and/or civil infraction fines up to $750; each day is a separate offense.
