Sound from a Category D property may not exceed 75 dB(A), measured as a five-minute Leq at the receiving property line, at any time of day or night. The limit is exceeded if the Leq reading tops 75 dB(A) or if any instantaneous reading exceeds it by 15 dB(A) or more. Pure-tone sources get a stricter 5 dB(A) reduction to that limit.
