Adams County's Vehicle Regulations (DSR 4-03-03-02-14) prohibit storing or parking inoperable vehicles, and unlicensed vehicles without a valid State Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate, outdoors. Unlicensed and inoperable vehicles may not be stored or parked on any public right-of-way for any time period. Statewide, C.R.S. 42-4-1802(1)(a) deems a vehicle abandoned once left unattended on public property outside an incorporated town or city for 48 hours or longer, permitting law-enforcement removal. Inoperable vehicles and junk are also treated as environmental blight (scrap metal, machinery, cast-off material). Report violations via SeeClickFix, Code Compliance at 720.523.2792, or the Sheriff at 720.322.1700.
Abandoned vehicles may be towed and impounded under C.R.S. 42-4-1801 et seq.; on-lot inoperable/junk vehicles are abated as blight through Code Compliance notices and citations.
