Ohio law defines an abandoned junk motor vehicle statewide. Under ORC 4513.63 it must be left 48+ hours, three years old or older, extensively damaged, apparently inoperable, and worth $1,500 or less. Canton adds a 72-hour private-property limit.
Abandoned-vehicle rules come from state law and your city, not a county zoning code. ORC 4513.63 sets the statewide definition of an 'abandoned junk motor vehicle,' requiring all five criteria: left 48 hours or longer without permission, three years old or older, extensively damaged (including missing wheels, tires, motor or transmission), apparently inoperable, and a fair market value of $1,500 or less. The county sheriff can order such vehicles photographed and disposed of. In Canton, City Code 355.09 bars willfully leaving an abandoned junk vehicle on private property more than seventy-two hours without the owner's permission.
Vehicles meeting the statutory test may be tagged, towed and sold to a salvage or scrap facility; owners lose the vehicle and owe costs. Canton 355.09 violations carry penalties under 355.99 / 303.99.
