Full Breakdown
Under County Code Sec. 5278, no one may park a bus, truck, house-trailer, tractor-trailer or truck-trailer combination on any street lying completely within a residential subdivision, as that term is defined in the county's Unified Development Code (Sec. 24002). The only exceptions: actually loading or unloading the vehicle, or parking in front of a business located in the subdivision during its business hours. The ban does not reach trucks weighing 6,000 pounds or less. This applies to county roads in unincorporated Jackson County; Kansas City, Independence, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown and Grandview enforce their own separate parking codes within city limits.
Violations & Fines
Violating the Jackson County Traffic Code is an infraction punishable, on conviction, by a fine up to $1,000 or up to 180 days in the county jail, or both, under Sec. 5234.
