Greenville County, SC Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

There is no single 'oversized vehicle' ordinance, but the county Zoning Ordinance's vehicle-storage rules effectively cap large vehicles on residentially zoned parcels. Sec. 9:5.2 permits only FHWA Class 1, 2, 3, and 5 commercial vehicles, no more than three total and at most one Class 5 (the heaviest allowed), and bans explosives/fuel/LP haulers. Sec. 9:5.1 limits residential lots to one travel or camping trailer that may not be occupied. Larger vehicles and equipment above Class 5 are not permitted to be stored on residential parcels. Inoperable oversized vehicles trigger nuisance and junkyard-screening requirements. Cities apply their own size and weight parking limits.
