Section 244-15 makes it unlawful to park any commercial motor vehicle, or a commercial motor vehicle for hire, on a public road right-of-way or on a private road right-of-way designated for public use on a recorded subdivision plat, anywhere in a residential district. The only routine exception is a vehicle actually engaged in loading or unloading passengers, merchandise or materials; the chapter also allows a state-permitted bus route to stop at an authorized terminal stand for up to 30 minutes to keep schedule. A vehicle disabled by mechanical failure or another emergency is excused from the ban, but only if it is removed within 24 hours, after which Section 244-18 lets the Director of Public Works impound it and bill the owner for towing and storage.

The same article separately bars performing service or repairs on any vehicle parked on a public street, highway or road in the county except emergency repairs, and bars using a public street to store or park a vehicle left in a garage or repair shop's custody beyond the time needed to move another car out (Section 244-16). A citation for parking a commercial vehicle in a residential district under Section 244-15 carries a $25 fine under Section 244-20(F), issued to the registered owner, who may pay it or elect to stand trial by notifying the county at least 5 days before the payment date (Section 244-19).
