Prince George's County, MD Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

Prince George's County Code Subtitle 26, Section 26-127.04 governs how parking interacts with driveways. Subsection (b)(1) prohibits stopping, standing, or parking in front of a public driveway. Subsection (c)(1) prohibits standing or parking within three feet of a private driveway without the consent of the owner or occupant. Subsection (b)(18) bars parking on an unpaved area of a residential lot, meaning vehicles must be kept on a paved driveway or approved surface rather than a lawn. Section 26-127.02 further prohibits parking on private property without the owner's permission. Residential-parking violations carry a $100 fine; other violations of the section are $50. Incorporated municipalities may adopt stricter driveway or front-yard parking rules.
