In Lincoln's residential districts, front-yard parking is limited to passenger cars, pickups, and vans on a concrete driveway or its equivalent, no wider than 35 percent of the front yard, set back two feet from side and front lot lines.
Lincoln Municipal Code 27.67.030 permits front-yard parking in the R-1 through R-7 districts only for passenger cars, pickup trucks, or vans, outside an enclosed structure, on a concrete driveway or its equivalent. The parking area may not exceed 35 percent of the front-yard width (50 percent for townhouses, up to a 16-foot maximum) and must sit at least two feet from and parallel to the side lot line and two feet from the front property line. Parking on bare grass or an unimproved front yard is prohibited. The unincorporated county applies the Lancaster County Zoning Resolution standards for the relevant district.
Parking on unapproved surfaces or exceeding the width limits is a zoning violation, handled by correction notice and, if unresolved, municipal citation.
