Lincoln regulates driveways through its zoning code (LMC Title 27) and design standards. Driveways must be constructed of approved hard surfaces such as concrete or asphalt. In residential zones R-5 through R-7, one required parking stall may be located on a driveway in the front yard in front of a garage per LMC 27.67.080. Driveway width, placement, and curb-cut specifications are governed by the Lincoln Design Standards and require a right-of-way permit from Lincoln Transportation and Utilities.
