Clark County requires off-street truck loading spaces for larger commercial and institutional buildings. Commercial and industrial buildings 5,000+ square feet need one or more berths; loading areas must be separated from parking and may not project into the public right-of-way.
Under CCC 40.340.010(D), 'Commercial, industrial and public utility buildings that have a gross floor area of five thousand (5,000) square feet or more shall provide truck loading or unloading spaces' (1 berth at 5,000-25,000 sq ft, 2 at 25,000-50,000, plus one per additional 50,000). Restaurants, offices, hotels, schools and similar uses of 30,000+ sq ft also need berths. Loading spaces 'shall be located so that trucks shall not obstruct pedestrian or vehicle traffic movement or project into any public right-of-way' and must be separated from and designated apart from parking areas. Berths within 100 feet of residential zones must be screened and noise-mitigated.
