Full Breakdown
On roads under county jurisdiction, Will County Code § 74.07 makes it unlawful to occupy a marked passenger loading zone longer than needed to load or unload, to block a curb within 75 feet of a hospital, hotel, or (weekdays 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.) public-building entrance, or to stand directly in front of an open theater entrance. Section 74.10 separately reserves posted cab stands for licensed taxicabs and posted bus zones for buses only. Violations are treated as general parking offenses under § 74.99. The chapter applies only to roads under county jurisdiction. Joliet, Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Plainfield and Lockport enforce their own curb and loading-zone rules on municipal streets.
Violations & Fines
Fine of $35 if paid within 14 days of citation; up to $120 if unpaid and referred to administrative adjudication, per § 74.99.
