Spokane County has no ordinance setting a length or weight cap on vehicles parked at a residence. Oversized or inoperable vehicles are addressed indirectly through the junk-vehicle nuisance code (SCC 6.13) and the zoning off-street parking standards.
Unlike some cities, the unincorporated county does not impose a specific size, length or gross-weight limit on trucks, trailers or motorhomes parked at a home. Enforcement of oversized-vehicle problems runs through two paths: SCC Chapter 6.13, which makes a 'junk motor vehicle' (any vehicle meeting three of the damage/inoperability criteria) a nuisance when stored improperly; and the Chapter 14.802 requirement that off-street parking areas stay 'maintained for parking purposes only.' A large vehicle that is operable, registered and lawfully parked generally does not violate county code, but one that is derelict or blocks required parking or sight lines can be abated.
An oversized junk/inoperable vehicle maintained as a nuisance is subject to the $250/day penalty and abatement under SCC 6.13.070.
