Spokane regulates on-street parking under SMC Title 16A. Downtown has metered zones, and residential permit zones exist near Gonzaga and downtown. Vehicles cannot remain parked in one location longer than 24 hours on public streets.
Spokane Municipal Code Title 16A governs all on-street parking. The 24-hour rule (SMC 16A.61.424) prohibits leaving a vehicle on any public street for more than 24 continuous hours without moving it. Downtown Spokane has metered parking enforced by the Parking Services division, with rates posted at pay stations and via the ParkMobile app. Residential Parking Zones (RPZ) operate near Gonzaga University, the Medical District, and parts of Browne Addition, requiring permits for long-term residential parking. Street sweeping and snow-route parking restrictions apply; signs posted during snow events require vehicles to be moved within a set window or risk towing. Some arterials enforce rush-hour no-parking windows.
Expired meter: $20. Over 24 hours: $35 plus possible tow. Snow-route violation during activated route: $50 and tow at owner expense.
