Designated communities ban oversized vehicles from county roads. Oak Park (Sec. 7251) bars vehicles over 25 ft long, 80 in wide, or 82 in high. Oak View and Casa Conejo (Sec. 7252, Ord. 4524) use 25 ft / 7 ft / 8 ft. The fine is $30, or $30 per day in Sec. 7252 areas. Permits and 72-hour trip exemptions apply.
Ventura County restricts oversized vehicles on county-maintained roads only in communities the Board of Supervisors has designated. The Oak Park Community ordinance (Ordinance Code Sec. 7251, added by Ord. 4358) defines an oversized vehicle as any vehicle or combination of connected vehicles exceeding 25 feet in length, and/or 80 inches in width, and/or 82 inches in height, and makes it unlawful to park or leave one standing on any highway in the Oak Park Community, subject to a $30 fine plus any Vehicle Code penalties. Section 7252 (added by Ord. 4524, effective June 19, 2018) is the general oversized-vehicle prohibition the Board applies by resolution to other areas (Oak View and Casa Conejo): it defines an oversized vehicle as any vehicle or combination exceeding 25 feet in length, 7 feet in width, or 8 feet in height, and imposes a civil penalty of $30 for every day the violation continues. Both ordinances exempt, for up to 72 hours, an oversized recreational vehicle while preparing for or recovering from a trip (a trip being an excursion of more than 24 continuous hours outside the area), temporary or emergency repairs (up to 72 hours), active loading/delivery, publicly owned vehicles, vehicles displaying a disabled placard or plate (CVC 5007, 22511.55, 22511.59), and permitted work vehicles and hardship cases. Signs are posted per CVC 22507, and enforcement is complaint-driven.
Parking or leaving standing any vehicle over the size limits on a county road in Oak Park (Sec. 7251) or in an Oak View/Casa Conejo area designated under Sec. 7252, outside the listed exemptions, is unlawful. The fine is $30 (Oak Park) or $30 per day the violation continues (Sec. 7252 areas), plus any Vehicle Code charges; the vehicle may be towed.
