Washtenaw County does not zone RV or boat parking; your city or township does. In Ann Arbor, trailers, boats and campers in residential zones may not sit in the front open space and must go behind the front building line.
Michigan cities and townships zone their own land under the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act (MCL 125.3101); the county sets no RV/boat rule. Ann Arbor Code Sec. 5:166(3) requires trailers, boats, campers and similar vehicles in residential zones to be stored in a structure, on a driveway, or in a location other than the front open space (the yard area in front of the home). Sec. 5:166(5) also bars any vehicle over 22 feet long from an off-street parking space in residential zones. Check your own municipality (Ypsilanti, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter or your township) for local variations.
Municipal civil infraction under Ann Arbor Code Chapter 59; fines set by the city, plus possible correction order. Enforcement is by city code enforcement, not the county.
