In unincorporated Lee County, you may not stop, stand, or park on sidewalks, crosswalks, intersections, bike paths, bridges, or anywhere official signs prohibit it. Parking is also barred on the roadway side of a parked vehicle. State traffic law (FS Ch. 316) governs enforcement and fines.
LDC-adopted traffic rules in Code of Ordinances Sec. 28-104 list where stopping, standing, or parking is prohibited: on sidewalks, within intersections, on crosswalks, on bicycle paths, on bridges or elevated structures, near safety zones, alongside street excavations that would narrow travel lanes, and anywhere official 'No Parking' signs are posted (Sec. 28-108). Angle and parallel parking must follow Sec. 28-105. Commercial trucks are separately banned from parking on residentially zoned property (Sec. 28-188) and on public rights-of-way (Sec. 28-189). Enforcement follows Florida Statutes Chapter 316.
Parking Enforcement or the Sheriff may ticket and, for repeat commercial-vehicle violations, tow at the owner's expense. Fines follow FS Ch. 316; owners have 30 days to pay or contest.
