Lake County follows Florida's uniform traffic law for where you may stop or park on a street. Florida Statute 316.1945 bars parking in front of driveways, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, on sidewalks, in crosswalks, and within intersections.
Unincorporated Lake County does not maintain a separate residential street-parking permit scheme; on-street stopping, standing and parking are governed by the statewide Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law. FS 316.1945 lists the prohibited locations statewide. Separately, Lake County LDR Section 3.06.03(B) bars any vehicle exceeding a GVWR of 12,000 lbs from being parked, stored or kept on any residential public street, avenue, alley or right-of-way (government emergency vehicles exempt). Obstructing the public right-of-way is unlawful under LDR Section 9.04.03(C). Cities within the county may add their own on-street restrictions.
A parking violation on a street is a noncriminal traffic infraction under FS 316; oversized-vehicle and right-of-way violations are enforced by Lake County Code Enforcement.
