Prince George's County Code Section 26-127.04 lists where stopping, standing, and parking are prohibited on County streets, including sidewalks, crosswalks, intersections, bike lanes, near fire hydrants, and on unpaved areas of residential lots. Municipalities may add their own rules.
Prince George's County Code Subtitle 26, Section 26-127.04 (Division 8, Parking Regulations) sets the countywide street-parking rules for unincorporated areas. It bars stopping, standing, or parking in front of a public driveway, on a sidewalk, in an intersection or crosswalk, in a bike lane or bikeway, and at any place prohibited by an official sign. Standing or parking is also barred within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, more than 12 inches from the curb, against the flow of traffic, and on an unpaved area of a residential lot. Fines are generally $50 per violation, or $100 for residential-parking violations. Incorporated municipalities may enforce stricter local ordinances.
A $50 fine applies for most violations of Section 26-127.04; violations pertaining to residential parking carry a $100 fine. Vehicles may also be cited or towed where signs or hydrant/crosswalk clearances are violated.
