On unincorporated Marion County roads no vehicle may be parked for three consecutive days or longer. Within cities like Salem, streets follow municipal code plus adopted Oregon Vehicle Code parking offenses. Farm and rural driveways are common alternatives.
The Marion County Board of Commissioners is the road authority under ORS 810.160 and regulates parking on county roads. MCC 10.10.150(A) prohibits parking any motor or nonmotorized vehicle in public roads for three consecutive days or longer. Salem's Chapter 102 adopts state parking offenses under ORS 811.550-811.585 and adds local limits, including a five-day cap on leaving a vehicle in one spot. Both jurisdictions bar parking against a red or yellow curb, in a landscape strip, or contrary to any posted parking-control device.
County right-of-way violations are Class B violations under ORS chapter 153, enforced by a county enforcement officer.
