Baton Rouge's Traffic Code (Title 11) sets where residents may leave vehicles on and beside the street. Parking is prohibited in front of or blocking a public or private driveway, on the driver's left-hand side of a two-way street, on the grass in a yard between the residence and the street, and on a neutral ground, right-of-way, sidewalk or the strip between a property line and the curb. A vehicle may be parked on a residential street for a period not exceeding nine continuous hours, and vehicles with two or more rear axles are not permitted to park within a residential neighborhood. On corner lots, no vehicle may be parked on the front lawn or side yard.
Parking violations are enforced by police and Parking Control; offending vehicles may be ticketed or towed. Fines and fees are set in Title 11, Ch. 28.
