Full Breakdown
Boone County Code Chapter 71 sets specific street-parking clearances rather than one blanket rule. 02 bars parking within 20 feet of where an intersecting road meets another, including the far side of a T-intersection. 03 bars parking within five feet of either side of a driveway or mailbox that opens onto a street, and separately bars parking on or over a public sidewalk entirely. 04 requires 15 feet of clearance from any fire hydrant. 05 bars parking in a cul-de-sac or within five feet of where its curve begins.
06 requires every parked vehicle to face the same direction as the flow of traffic on that side of the road. 07 states the general rule: no one may park on a county road, street or right-of-way, though it carves out parking in front of a private residence in a suburban area where otherwise permitted, so long as it does not impede traffic and never sits longer than five days. 01's definitions, on streets maintained by the City of Union and the City of Walton; Florence enforces its own separate parking code for streets inside its limits. 14.
Violations & Fines
Each of §§ 71.02 through 71.07 carries the same penalty schedule under § 71.99: a $30 civil penalty for a first or second violation within a rolling 365-day period, $60 for a third or later violation in that period, and up to $500 if the citation is contested and the violator loses. Every additional day a vehicle remains improperly parked counts as a separate offense.
