Miami-Dade County Chapter 19 property maintenance provisions prohibit the accumulation of litter, junk, trash, solid waste, or abandoned property on any lot. Prohibited items include junk motor vehicles, trailers, boats, household appliances, scrap, tanks, casks, cans, boxes, bottles, glass, rags, paper, and other waste materials. Properties must be maintained in a condition that does not create a public nuisance, attract vermin, or reduce neighborhood property values. The Neighborhood Compliance Section enforces blight standards. Graffiti is also regulated. Report violations through 311 or the county website.
Chapter 19 violations are enforced under Chapter 8CC. If not corrected within the compliance period, Miami-Dade County may perform corrective work at the owner's expense. Penalties accrue daily. A lien may be placed on the property.
