In Paulding County, grass, weeds, and uncultivated vegetation may not exceed 18 inches on subdivision properties that hold a building. Undeveloped platted lots must be kept clear along their right-of-way frontage.
Section 40-8(4) sets an 18-inch limit on grass, weeds, and uncultivated vegetation. It applies to every property or lot in a platted subdivision that has a building or residence on it, regardless of lot size or zoning designation. For undeveloped platted lots where the county has not accepted the streets for maintenance, the limit applies from the back of the curb or edge of pavement to the right-of-way line. Property within 50 feet of an arterial roadway must also stay under 18 inches, except unimproved parcels. The Marshal's Office enforces the limit, and the county may abate overgrowth and bill the owner.
Overgrowth over 18 inches brings a Marshal's Office notice and citation under Section 1-19, with fines from $100 to $1,000 and each day a separate offense; the county may mow and charge the cost.
