A state banquet permit is separately required for any approved alcohol service.
The opening and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages in a county park area or on any property owned, operated and/or managed by the Yakima Greenway Foundation and its successors and assigns within the unincorporated area of Yakima County is prohibited unless the consumption of alcohol in these areas is approved in advance by the parks director or his designee and the county sheriff, and conforms to the requirements of the Washington State Liquor Control Board.

Full Breakdown
510 of the Yakima County Code sets a default ban: the opening and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages in a county park area or on any property owned, operated and/or managed by the Yakima Greenway Foundation within the unincorporated area of Yakima County is prohibited unless two separate approvals are obtained first, sign-off from the parks director or a designee, and sign-off from the county sheriff, and the use also conforms to Washington State Liquor Control Board requirements. 520 adds a further, state-level layer on top of that dual local approval: a Washington State Liquor Control Board banquet permit is required for consumption of alcoholic beverages at any Yakima County park facility, so a group cannot rely on the director's and sheriff's approval alone.
530 sets an absolute age floor regardless of any permit: no person who has not reached their twenty-first birthday may possess or consume alcohol in a Yakima County park facility or area. 100 requires the group's liability insurance certificate to state that alcohol-use coverage is included. 010 to include alcohol, spirits, wine, beer, and any drinkable liquid containing more than one percent alcohol by weight, which is conclusively deemed to be intoxicating under the code. 570, punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or up to 90 days in jail, or both, and the code separately authorizes immediate ejection from the park for noncompliance.
Violations & Fines
Opening or drinking alcohol in a Yakima County park or on Yakima Greenway Foundation land without prior parks director and sheriff approval, a state banquet permit, and compliance with the 21-and-over rule violates Sections 11.04.510 through 11.04.530 and is a misdemeanor under Section 11.04.570: a fine of up to $1,000, up to 90 days in jail, or both, plus immediate ejection from the park.
