B. Roller Skating, Skateboarding, In-Line Skating. Roller skating, skateboarding and in-line skating shall be confined to paved trails or those areas specifically designated and posted for such purposes by the Director.

' Riding on grass, playgrounds, parking lots, picnic shelters or any unpaved, undesignated ground falls outside the permitted zone. 220's general trail-use rules: trails may be used by 'pedestrians, joggers, bicyclists, equestrian riders where permitted or authorized, cross-country skiers, skaters and skateboarders,' but every user 'shall do so in a careful and prudent manner and shall exercise the highest degree of care,' must not ride at a speed that endangers others, must stay to the right, and must not obstruct trail traffic moving in either direction.

Violations & Fines
Skateboarding off a paved trail or outside a Director-designated area violates § 250.390(B) and is chargeable as a Class A misdemeanor under § 250.480, punishable by up to one year in the County Jail or a $1,000 fine per incident. A Park Ranger or Police Officer may eject a violator immediately; re-entering the park within 24 hours of ejection is a separate offense, and repeat violators can receive a written Notice of Banishment under § 250.450(B).
