Under Sec. 39-300(y) of the Broward County Zoning Code, only indoor skateboard facilities and skating rinks are permitted in B-2 (General Commercial) and B-3 (Intense Commercial) business districts: an outdoor skate park cannot be sited in these zones. This rule applies only in unincorporated Broward County; Sec. 39-2 confines the Zoning Code to the unincorporated area, so Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and Coral Springs set their own rules for skateboard facilities inside city limits. Separately, county park rules (Sec. 25½-2(i)) allow skateboards on designated park roads and bike paths but bar them from nature trails.
