Unincorporated San Bernardino County has not adopted a local relocation-assistance ordinance for displaced tenants. Only the relocation payment required by California AB 1482 for qualifying no-fault evictions applies.
Many California cities (Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale) require landlords to pay tenants relocation assistance ranging from one month's rent to substantial fixed sums on no-fault evictions. Unincorporated SBC has not adopted such a local ordinance, so the only relocation requirement is the statewide AB 1482 floor: one month's rent (or waiver of the final month) when the landlord invokes a covered no-fault just-cause reason. Tenants in unincorporated areas should verify their property is not inside a city with stronger local rules.
Failing to pay or credit the AB 1482 statutory relocation amount before a no-fault termination renders the eviction notice defective under California Civil Code 1946.2.
