This is not a one-time showing: 35-6-209(B)(4) requires that at all times the host maintains an active liability insurance policy of at least $1,000,000 for the short-term rental. The coverage requirement applies to every licensed rental in the county, hosted or un-hosted. This is one of the county's firmest STR rules, giving Baltimore County a codified $1 million minimum that many jurisdictions leave to platform coverage.
Letting the required $1,000,000 liability coverage lapse violates the subtitle's ongoing host requirements and is grounds to suspend or revoke the license, with cumulative civil penalties available.
