For the Bed & Breakfast Home lodging use, Guilford County's UDO requires two parking spaces for the residence plus one space per designated guest room. There is no separate parking rule for an ordinary whole-house short-term rental beyond the district's residential standards.
Where a short-term stay operates as a Bed & Breakfast Home (Sec. 5.9.A), the Guilford County UDO requires "Two (2) spaces for single family residence and one (1) per designated guest room." A three-guest-room bed-and-breakfast therefore needs five off-street spaces. For a conventional whole-house STR, the county sets no special STR parking count; the property must simply meet the off-street parking standard for its residential zoning district. Cities like Greensboro and High Point apply their own STR parking rules inside their limits, so verify jurisdiction before relying on the county standard.
Failing to provide the required off-street spaces is a UDO site-standard violation enforced by Guilford County Planning & Development, which can withhold or revoke approval of the lodging use.
